I just read from an officer's of Health Ministering "This is not flu season, all flues at this time are H1N1". That's terrible...

>I know. When it comes to your children you want to be absolutely sure. Parents are afraid here too. Here the H1N1 is hitting kids worse than other flu viruses have in the past. Older folks are mostly just getting minor illnesses from it. Typically the seasonal flu actually kills thousands each year and mostly all senior citizens or those with compromised immune systems or other health issues. The H1N1 is hitting kids especially hard. I heard on the news that 1/3 or all deaths from the H1N1 are kids under 24. That's unusual. Yet there is all that paranoia that may be based in a small amount of reality (or history - remember 1976) and the possibility of side effects. If there have been a lot of side effects, they haven't been publicized. Here those with health problems or under the age of 24 get priority for the vaccine. I am trying to convince my daughter to get it when it is available (she is 18 and in college).
