Updated image. I aligned everything and drew some lines.

The combo has not shrunk, as Bonnie pointed out, but the textbox has grown as has the button, because the width was not explicitly set.
Well I did not set the width property for any of the controls. That was VS doing it on its own - doing it for some and not for others.
