I'm also interested in the subject. The arguments in favor of WPF I've heard so far didn't convince me. Yes it's nice to know that the form will resize itself better with WPF than with WinForms on different screen resolution, but the complexity of working with XML-type source file (XAML) completly erase this advantage IMHO. I try to keep myself as far as I can from any form of web development because I hate the syntax of HTML, ASPX, XML, etc.

All the demos I've seen on WPF turn around putting animation inside a command button. Come on, when will I need to do that? Another advantage I've seen is the separation of the presentation layer from the source code. They say that a designer could work on the graphical part while the developer concentrate on coding. Good idea in theory, but I'm working in a small shop and we don't have a designer here. I have to put the hat of the designer (I pretty much s*ck as a designer).

So I've used good old WinForms in my last project and the users are happy. Until WPF mature enough so that I don't have to work with XAML, that I don't any other choice or someone give me a very good reason to use WPF, I will stick to WinForms thank you.

>So, in reading CODE Magazine early this morning, I read an article about the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and how Windows Foms will no longer be updated or enhanced by Microsoft in Visual Studio, which means the VS 2010 version coming out next year will have no new "stuff" for Windows Forms. Is WPF that good and fantastic that Microsoft will completely abandon any work on Windows Forms?
