Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
>>Winforms, VFP, pretty much any business-type application has UI based on GDI, which dates back to Win3.11 or earlier. It hasn't been really updated in all that time.

>And why does it need to be updated??? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

>From what I read, and replies to my posting on WPF the other day, and from what people are saying in this thread, WPF is more hype than substance.
On reviewing that thrread it appears to me that those in the 'more hype than substance' camp are those with little or no experience of actually using it (gd&r)
I have no trouble at all producing working business applications with WinForms. and my customers could care
>less if they have some really flashy UI's. They care if the number are crunched correctly. They care if the reports accuratly reflect the data. UI is nice, but it's often overemphasized. Truth be know, unless there is some compelling reason for me to abandon 20+ years of experience and dive into the muck that is XML/XAML, I'm staying with WinForms.
