Rather than thinking, "here's what they need to do their job" start thinking, "if I provided the data in a different way and allowed them to easily change how they view the data, would it make their job easier OR allow the company to see things in a way that increases revenue."

>>>LOL. You just implied that because I haven't used WPF, my apps don't provide value to my customers. How narrow.
>>
>>PMJI. Craig didn't say that your apps don't provide value to your customers - simply that he can use WPF to provide his customers with *more*
>>>
>>>Value is not found in WOW, value is found in their ability to make decisions based of the data my app provides, Bells, wistles, flashy colors, and animations do nothing to change this.
>>
>>Surely it's a well known fact the the *way* in which data is provided adds immensly to the users ability to interpret it in a meaningful way.
>>Compare a tabular display of statistical data to a pie chart for instance.

>Agreed. But of the chart is displayed with animation versus just a chart, does the value of the data diminish?

I don't think I mentioned animation. But OK - how about a date based slider and a pie chart that changes it slices dynamically....
(OK - now I'm guilty of pushing the WOW factor as you put it :-} )
