As for WPF and Winforms in the same app, I disagree. WPF can be used for data entry. I know because we have a WPF data entry app. Also, WPF and WInforms in the same app will look like crap. They don't look like each other.

Winforms are dead not because people won't use them but because Microsoft will no longer update them.
