Cecil --

funny enough, I had and still have the same reaction to VB. It's just an emotional response, I'm sure, because VB.NET is certainly a capable language. After my Fox experience, though, I have started hedging my bets and I do believe that C# will become obsolete AFTER VB.NET, if ever.

>Well, Pertti, I suppose the REAL Programmers (C# guys and gals) would say in response to you that .NET is just a bit more complex than VFP. Yes, that is most assuredly WPF. Good to see you out and about. I am plugging away with C#. It's actually fun to mess around in C#. Almost as fun as Fox. I still can't get myself to do that VB.NET stuf though. Even though it's a nice language now, it's still called Visual Basic, which upon hearing used to cause me to gag at FoxPro user group meetings. (Just kidding!)

>>Oh, boy. Doesn't it make you miss the days when you would install VFP 6/7/8/9 quickly and effortlessly from one CD and one executable, and be up and running with User Interface builders, report builders, programming language and database in no time.

>>By the way, another book to take a look at is Silverlight 3 Jumpstart by David Yack. It is a pretty basic startup tutorial, but at least for me it has been most informative when trying to learn XAML, Silverlight, WTF... I mean WPF, and the like.
