Check out Terminal Services RemoteApp in Windows Server 2008. Instead of providing an entire remote desktop it provides just the Remote Application so end users don't get confused with the whole why do I have two Start buttons issues that are endemic to a regular terminal session.

The end-user just has a normal shortcut to start the application, just like any other regular application, except the RemoteApp application runs remotely on the server. It is very cool.
