>In the book called Sams Teach Yourself Visual C# 2008 in 24 hours, James Foxall asks you to go to Tools / Options and Windows Forms Designer to set the ShowGrid property to TRUE. This causes the actual grids to show up on the form. However, he also states that it doesn't work when using the C# portion of Visual Studio. He says you can set the SHOWGRID property to TRUE, exit Visual Studio and then when you go back into the IDE and look at your Windows Form, the grid lines will now show up. Well, that might be in Visual Studio 2008, but not so in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I am imagining that it is not a big deal to the VS 2010 team possibly.

You didn't mention it (I don't know if the book did) but I think you also need to ensure that the 'Layout Mode' is set to 'Snap to Grid'
(BTW it works in C# in 2005 & 2008)
