Hi Pete,

I can't help jumping in here since my name seems to have come up.

I don't know if there's a book, but I doubt it. This is just my opinion, but I doubt that there's enough to inform someone of to make up an entire book. Perhaps a chapter or two on the basics, but I don't think it would be worthwhile for a publisher to put it in print.

Having said that, I'm considering writing something up on the API basics, including techniques. By no means would it be the "definitive" work on the API from the VFP standpoint. Rather it would simply cover some of the fundamentals, and perhaps include some tips on how to retrieve a string from its address in a structure and the like. What I'll do with it after (and if) it's written, I don't know? Perhaps it might end up here in the Knowledge Base.

As Vlad Tatavu pointed out, there are between 2,000 and 2,500 API functions (depending on the version of Windows). That, in and of itself, would make it impossible to write a comprehensive document, even if those functions that VFP can't use were excluded.
George
