I didn't think of this approach. Which I will try, if MSCONFIG fails to help me. I was just wondering why MSCONFIG keeps trying to change my changes.

>Can't you just run services.msc and find the service and double click and set the startup type to Manual. Then when windows start the service won't start and if you need it started you have to go back into services and select start the service.
