Hi Viv,

Why does it matter what the XAML represents. My XAML could be TRYING to represent something valid but maybe my typing skills are crap and it end up representing nothing meaningful. But so what? My point is that the lame text editor cannot do something as simple as dragging highlighted text to another location within the file.

I find this more odd than Silverlight not including mouse wheel support out of the box - but just barely :)

Mike

>Hi,
>You don't say what the XAML represents.
>I don't use EB much but if it represents a control you can simple drag the control to a different container in the 'Objects and TimeLine' panel. If it's not a control then pls elucidate on what you're trying to achieve.

>(I agree that it's odd that Silverlight doesn't include MouseWheel behaviour....)

>>What's that got to do with me wanting to DRAG the text like just about every text editor does now? The MS team that produced Notepad must have been used to write the Expression Blend 3 XAML text editor too :)

>>Of course I've tried cut and paste. Currently I've got no other choice! Talk about a stupid oversight (if that is indeed what happened).
>>
>>Here's another that bugs me to no end. In a Silverlight app, any control that has a scrollbar DOES NOT NATIVELY HAVE THE ABILITY TO USE THE MOUSEWHEEL!!! A developer would need to add a "BEHAVIOUR" or add code to make that work. That was a WTF moment to me. Again, what were they thinking here. Its the little things like this, the simple, basic, "should be taken for granted" things that make me think "one step forward, two steps backwards".

You know, the same functionality that is found here in the UT editor being used to create this message. No sir. That would be too easy.
