>Sure. Just bear in mind that the iPhone market is quite different from the one we are accustomed to as developers of business applications. Lots of the successful iPhone apps are very simple, many utilizing the phone's GPS capability. Find the nearest Chinese restaurant, find the nearest gas station, etc. If I were targeting that market, which I am not (at least not at the moment), I would be looking for one of those ideas that makes you smack your forehead and say, Why didn't I think of that?!

Bit off topic but one of the coolest bits of technology I've come across recently is a tracking device for falconry (one of the reasons I don't get much work done in the season) :

On the transmitting end is a small device (about 1gm) that incorporates a GPS receiver and a cellular phone.
Most modern mobile phones can be used as a receiver and will pinpoint the bird (assuming it's got cellular coverage) on a high-resolution map on screen.

This type of transmitter has been available for a while - but much larger (suitable for dogs etc) and the miniature version is only just becoming available. Not cheap tho - apart from the initial cost you have to buy a phone contract for the bird :-{

Best,
Viv

>>Hi

>>I guess that is a good point. My business has generally been focused on solving problems for customers not eventing software that someone might like. So the biggest challenge with the iPhone is coming up with an idea. I am not one for building computer games so until I come across a need that fits the iphone or an idea for some application the platform does not hold a lot of appeal at present.
