I did not find LearnVisualStudio.com as useful as some others have. That is not boasting; we all have different learning styles. Just for me, having read a couple of C# books at the time, there wasn't much new.

I mention only in passing that when I cancelled the subscription, I received a refund but was not removed from the subscribers list. The emails still come in about new videos and I have even checked some of them out. (Shhh! <g>) Probably just lucky there.

>>I subscribed last weekend. The DRM system AppDev uses is pure hell, always has been. But once you get it working (their tech support is very nice, but I couldn't get it working on my Vista Ultimate box but now seems to be working on Windows 7 ) the training is a very good value.
>>
>>About $50 a month or $350 a year. Lots of their stuff is old, though probably still relevant, but there is certainly enough new content to justify way more than the cost. ( nice to see Robert Green again, too <g> ) I figure I can burn through everything I'm interested in before the end of the year. I really like this kind of video training (though AppDev likes Powerpoint more than I do)
>>
>>If prices were equal I would probably prefer Pluralsoft from what I saw of their samples and in January I'll probably drop $1500 on them for a year. They seemed to have more recently created material and they like code better than powerpoint.
>>
>>That said, go for it. I can't see how you can go wrong at that price ( assuming you already have a learnvisualstudio.com subscription )

>>>Hi y'all,
>>>
>>>I'm about to embark in learning new things, as some of you know from another message I posted a couple of days ago.
>>>
>>>There's a lot of material available for free out there (videos, articles, tuturoals), as well as books, but today I ran across a an offer from AppDev that seems pretty good to me: 1 year of access to about 80 courses for some $1500 (of which at least 15 seem interesting and important to me).
>>>
>>>The information's at http://www.appdev.com/promo.asp?page=WB00051
>>>
>>>I think this is a good idea because I don't have to scour the web looking for materials, it's already structures, so I don't need to worry about what I'm going to learn at each step, and would save me considerable time.
>>>
>>>What do you think?

>>>PS: If I go for it (I'm planning to start around Nov. 25) and there are others interested, we can take advantage of some price breaks based on multiple users. More food for thought, more money for sushi.
