Did you see Alan's post yesterday with an article asserting the Redskins are the most dysfunctional team in the NFL? The columnist may have had a point. OTOH, the Browns have a valid claim as well. Wow, what a rotten team. The Bears played badly, at least on offense, and still beat them by 24. And the Bears are no Super Bowl contenders. (Chicago's cyclical giddiness about its teams has already passed). You could put Derek Anderson 10 feet from Lake Erie and he couldn't put it in the water. You could spot him 5 feet and he still couldn't do it. A 43 passer rating
for the season. Other QBs can have a day like that and it's just a really bad day. That's his average.
I didn't catch who the color man was for the Browns-Bears game. He kept wondering over the air why the Browns didn't put Brady Quinn in. Does he not read sports reports? Sports Illustrated reported several weeks ago that Quinn has a kicker in his contract, worth around $12 million IIRC, based on snaps taken. The SI piece said the Browns have given up on Quinn as their QB of the future (awfully quickly in my opinion, even though I dislike Notre Dame guys as a reflex) and don't want to pay the money.
Cardinals here tomorrow. All the blognosticators seem to think the Cardinals will win, probably because of Fitzgerald and Boldin. The Bears secondary couldn't cover you and me, so the top duo in the NFL is something to think about.
