Whilfest excepted, of course <g>. I still remember you coming up to me against the back wall and introducing yourself.

Did you see Alan's post yesterday with an article asserting the Redskins are the most dysfunctional team in the NFL? The columnist may have had a point. OTOH, the Browns have a valid claim as well. Wow, what a rotten team. The Bears played badly, at least on offense, and still beat them by 24. And the Bears are no Super Bowl contenders. (Chicago's cyclical giddiness about its teams has already passed). You could put Derek Anderson 10 feet from Lake Erie and he couldn't put it in the water. You could spot him 5 feet and he still couldn't do it. A 43 passer rating for the season. Other QBs can have a day like that and it's just a really bad day. That's his average.

I didn't catch who the color man was for the Browns-Bears game. He kept wondering over the air why the Browns didn't put Brady Quinn in. Does he not read sports reports? Sports Illustrated reported several weeks ago that Quinn has a kicker in his contract, worth around $12 million IIRC, based on snaps taken. The SI piece said the Browns have given up on Quinn as their QB of the future (awfully quickly in my opinion, even though I dislike Notre Dame guys as a reflex) and don't want to pay the money.

Cardinals here tomorrow. All the blognosticators seem to think the Cardinals will win, probably because of Fitzgerald and Boldin. The Bears secondary couldn't cover you and me, so the top duo in the NFL is something to think about.

>Sorry - PluralSight - I think Craig recommended them

>Not sure what you mean about "offering" and "10 minute" Leanvisualstudio has many many hours of training on a wide variety of the stuff and the sister site TrainingSpot.com has the SQL Server stuff. I bought lifetime memberships on both. ( I find classroom and conference a waste of time for me - except for the social networking part, but love the video training format )

>>Hi Charles,
>>
>>I didn't know about http://LearnVisualStudio.com I'll take some time to explore their offering, although I'm a bit skeptical about being able to learn much from a 10 minute video.
>>
>>Who's Pluralsoft? The only company I found with that name does ERP, not training.

>>>I subscribed last weekend. The DRM system AppDev uses is pure hell, always has been. But once you get it working (their tech support is very nice, but I couldn't get it working on my Vista Ultimate box but now seems to be working on Windows 7 ) the training is a very good value.
>>>
>>>About $50 a month or $350 a year. Lots of their stuff is old, though probably still relevant, but there is certainly enough new content to justify way more than the cost. ( nice to see Robert Green again, too <g> ) I figure I can burn through everything I'm interested in before the end of the year. I really like this kind of video training (though AppDev likes Powerpoint more than I do)
>>>
>>>If prices were equal I would probably prefer Pluralsoft from what I saw of their samples and in January I'll probably drop $1500 on them for a year. They seemed to have more recently created material and they like code better than powerpoint.
>>>
>>>That said, go for it. I can't see how you can go wrong at that price ( assuming you already have a learnvisualstudio.com subscription )
