next time this happens you don't need to reinstall VS - just open the VS Command Prompt (not a Command window but the command prompt on the menu under VS / Tools )
and
devenv /installvstemplates
(FWIW the first time this happened to me I Googled "visual studio templates install" and it got me that solution on the third hit )
