I'm glad to hear that development is ongoing -- couldn't determine that by looking at the website where the latest version release is almost a year ago. If nothing else, the lack of web application development capabilities is a deal breaker for me, but that may not be the case for many others out there, so who knows, Dabo could still have some legs.


Lot's of changes occur just over the this weekend. But you have a valid point with Dabo's web solution being really a client server app. However, I been playing with other web solutions recently and noticed a trend of providing different ways of avoiding javascript or replacing it. I wonder if we can use one of them as a Dabo python UI module. Displaying controls using Dabo code. It might happen - since Dabo does not care what the UI is using to display controls.

But I have a lot on my plate to just to get the fancy graphics working with Dabo. So far I have trees with icons, multi-line text, fancy plus signs, fancy check boxes, and editable leaves. Along with gradient buttons, backgrounds, and changing color text. It amazes me that all that fancy stuff does nothing for the CRUD but really seems to please the customers. Of course the standard graphic stuff Dabo does like increase or decrease font size using standard ctrl+ and ctrl - along with the dynamic form sizing helps too.

That last graphic feature really shines compared to VFP. Dynamic sizing forms - very cool.
