>>>Maybe you're on the right track, Detective Grady. Then again, what I know from personal experience with two people who have come down with H1N1 is that it is very much like the ordinary flu. You're sick for a week, then you're better. I think we are going a little crazy about it, and in this case I agree with those who say the media have overhyped it.
>>
>>I think the media is just reporting what is going on. And, yes most people who get it have mild symptoms that are gone in four to five days. So, for ninety five per cent, or so, of those who get it there is nothing to worry about. The small group gets hemoragic lung infections which are very serious. There is medical chatter about H1N1 approaching Egypt and Vietnam where H5N1 may or may not blend with H1N1. Middle Europe is being whacked by H1N1 now, and deaths are up in Turkey, so Metin will be paying attention.
>>
>>As for the rest of you.
>>
>>Carry on having fun.

>It would probably be a cosmic joke if I got it myself and died. Until then I am regarding it as much ado about nothing, a close relative of the Y2K "crisis."

>Here is an off topic riff, my specialty <g>. In 1999 I had offers up the ying yang for COBOL mainframe work from known and unknown people who were familiar with my dismal past. The highest was $175/hour. Nope, not me, I was too good for COBOL. I wish there was a new such crisis ("The December 2009 Crisis!"). As Tom T. Hall wrote, this time I wasn't quite so hard to please.

I was part of the COBOL crowd at that time. There wasn't much to do as the date problem was discovered thirty years earlier when mortgages started having trouble with the approaching century. When most folks started hearing about it, it was was definately hype.
I ain't skeert of nuttin eh?
Yikes! What was that?
