Typical apps, yes. For really large apps (many assemblies and layers), they will be really slow debugging but will definitely run. It will absolutely work though. I used VS2008 and SQLServer 2005 on a Dell Latitude D610 laptop with only 2GB until just recently when I upgraded to D630..
