Hi,
Had the same thing happen last night on an intel based new workstation, it was reporting back sectors after applying all the patches to Windows 7 Ultimate. The F8 worked, finished the patch update and ran diags, says nothing wrong with the disk, maybe a Windows 7 update problem.
