Thanks Bernard for the additional insights. This will be a good start for me.

>>Seems very affordable, and I have a new computer running Win 7 with 6 gig of memory, very fast processor and wondering if this would run XP within that speedy.

>Not actually familiar, but I have used v2.2 which does not have Win7 support. But for XP, it is very fast. I have set up a cut down version of XP with themes, IE & Networking and it boots XP completely in 8 seconds flat.

>Full versions of XP are slower though, but can be made very fast by eliminating all the extra chaff using programs line nLite.

>Free to use is Sun Microsystems VirtualBOX which has support for WIN7. I have a copy of WIN7RC (trial) running happily on it for testing with VFP. Win7 loads faster than Vista anyway since it loads many services after bootup so you cannot actually compare boot times with XP. It basically cheats you into thinking (like Vista) that it has booted up, by displaying the desktop then slyly loading device drivers in the background.

>MS one is free too, and in my experience, VMWare's Virtual Desktop is the easiest to manage with the best support, though it has its quirks too.
