Hi,
I got today Windows 7 upgrade DVD from Dell for my notebook that has Vista 64 Business installed. I tried to upgrade to Windows 7 but it fails. Basically when I insert the DVD I am prompted to confirm that I want to run Windows7_update_something.exe. I click on Allow and nothing happens. I tried to reboot the notebook but to no avail.
Since this notebook has no value information I don't mind to start from scratch. Someone told me that if I reformat the drive, this - Windows 7 upgrade DVD - will work as an installation disk on a computer without any OS installed. Has anybody tried this? Is this correct?
If above is correct, what is the best way to reformat the drive that has Vista 64 Business installed?
TIA.
