It is risky, I agree. But right now I am stuck in a no-go situation. I am reading a bunch of articles on the web with hope to find what is missing.
The strange thing that one time (the very first time) Win 7 upgrade started to check my system for compatible software. It found two (Del ControlPoint applications) that should be removed. I removed them. Now when I put in the DVD it only prompts me to allow running the win7_upgrade_start.exe but nothing happens.
