>>>>Yeah, here they have road signs such as a black horz. line with two upward bumps on it. Why don't they just have a sign that says"Uneven road surface"? Oh, wait a minute, they do have a plaque underneath that says just that.

>>>That one used to be quite common, meaning "general danger, watch for just about everything". The only one worse than that was a large black circle, about 15cm in diameter, in the middle of the triangle. That so-called "black point" meant "we don't have a clue what's wrong, but statistically we know that too many accidents happen here, so watch out".
>>>
>>>There are other nice signs, like "circle your wagons, American Americans prone to attack" (three arrows circling), "cow from the right" (you know how that looks... well, maybe your cows come in from the left?), or "a very long deer" (2 km, it says below), "this triangle is blank and upside down", "no passing (valid for cars of cars of other colors too)". The first sign, the three white arrows on a blue circle, is said to have had an additional plate below it, at least in Bosnia, saying "max 10 minutes".
>>
>>There is what I consider a very clever sign in an (extremely) ritzy gated community in Wisconsin where one of Emily's friends lives. It looks exactly like any other speed limit sign, except it says the speed limit is 26 mph. The number not being a multiple of 5 is enough to get your attention and at least consider it, which is not what most people do in 25 mph zones.

Hi Terry

hows things ?

BTW A lot of urban areas are now adopting a 20 mph limit near schools and minor roads (certainly in London)
