"Some" of our power is already generated by the sun. "All" is not feasible even if you include wind and water.

The goal of the "green" movement is not to move us to clean or independent energy sources but to remove energy from our lives thus limiting our "consumption" and bringing us into some utopian "balance" with nature.

If it had anything to do with energy independence we'd be drilling for oil, natural gas and whatever else we can find in the gulf, arctic and shale formations. If it had anything to do with "clean" energy then we'd be building new nuclear reactors as fast as humanly possible. It doesn't. After all, even when we attempt to start by building solar panels in the desert, the greenies stop it.
