I am checking this in Word 2003; perhaps Word 2007 has more options.

Under the menu command "Format - Numbering...", you can select a multi-level numbering scheme. I guess you could include this as part of the style definition. However, the numbers are placed to the left, not to the right as in your example.

You have more flexibility - and more work - if you use auto-numbering fields. It seems the appropriate field, in this case, is LISTNUM. Unfortunately, you have to manually insert it into each and every header. More information on LISTNUM here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162895/en-us/

>I have four styles that I use as my headers in a document so the table of content can be build. So, I have Header1, Header2, Header3 and Header4. However, when I use those styles in my document, I would like to obtain automatic generated numbers to it such as:

>This is title for Header1 style 1
> This is title for Header2 style 1.1
> This is title for Header3 style 1.1.1
> This is title for Header4 style 1.1.1.1
> This is title for Header4 style 1.1.1.2
> This is title for Header3 style 1.1.2
> This is title for Header2 style 1.2
> This is title for Header3 style 1.2.1
> This is title for Header4 style 1.2.1.1
> This is title for Header4 style 1.2.1.2
> This is title for Header3 style 1.2.2

Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
