The distinction between the worthy and less worthy. The proponents of culling, of thinning the herd, always somehow put themselves on the must-be-kept-at-all-cost list, while Neil was pointing out that when the push comes to shove you usually get surprised at who stands their ground and who fails. Mostly because the previous PR is painting the wrong picture, for a good reason: those who have the strength don't need to boast of it, and vice versa.

>>Having been thru a number of close calls over the years, and seeing supposedly able body people just go to water, and for the want of a better word "obstuct" those that rise to the occasion it does make one wonder at at times, especially when it is usually these less able that are telling us what to do when the times are good.

>>The other amazing thing is, that when people that are not regarded as being of the right stuff rise to the occassion, and have the other wastes of space clutching at their ankles.

>>Human nature is an amazing thing, but it takes a close call to actually see who is made of the right stuff.
