We've got a customer who is running our app written in VFP6 on his computer that was running Windows 7. He had called because he was having problems with an error message he was getting when our program tried connecting to a MS-SQL database (was getting something about architecture mismatch). After researching the particular error I discovered that in 64-bit Windows you need to run the odbcad32.exe that is in the SysWow64 folder (and not the one in the system32 folder) to set up the ODBC data source for a 32-bit application. After we set up the DSN with the appropriate odbcad32.exe, everything was working OK.
