I've been looking around for some type of scenario in which I could learn .NET, in which I include VB, C# and ASP.NET at my pace. I know that if I go into a classroom, I'll not "get it" all. Either the class will drone on for too long or the instructor may not really know how to teach that well. You've got to keep people awake.
I thought about signing up for some of those .NET Boot Camp things, but the costs were exhorbitant, something on the order of $7,000 to $10,000. When you are looking at keeping your costs down, that kind of money kills the piggy bank.
I've been on my own training program, but this recent Thanksgiving Holiday period really lost me about two weeks of self-training on ASP.NET using VB. I recently received a 30-day training access to PluralSight.com which I will check out sometime today, or tomorrow.
Okay, here's what I've put my money down on for now:
For $1,339.00, I've bought a year's access to what is called
www.QuickCert.com which means I can watch online videos at my pace, do practice exams and at a separate cost take Microsoft Certification Exams. I had the QuickCert web page up last night, but was too tired to continue with a demo, so I left it until this morning.
About 45 minutes or so ago, a man named
Manny Serrano of
http://www.QuickCert.com called me and explained how the training with their company works. I listened skeptically at first, but was sold on their system. If you are interested, you can call Manny Serrano at one of the following numbers:
1-888-840-2378
1-800-942-1660
and have him explain the same to you. Tell him that CECIL sent you.
Good luck on your .NET training.
