IIRC, the early DVD versions were simply made by piling the content of a bunch of CD's onto one DVD to reduce to bulk. In many cases, if you wanted to actually use them, you needed to copy the content back onto individual CDs first. Not ideal.......

I've also kept stuff going back at least 12 yrs. Goodness knows why - I can't envisage ever needing to install, say, N.T. Workstation 3.51 in Finnish in the future :-}
