Not just for IT pros - I'm starting to recommend that unsophisticated users consider Macs, specifically for resistance to malware. Malware is so pernicious these days; a huge proportion of all computers that are used by teenagers or young adults are infected.

The old argument was that there are some apps like QuickBooks that are Windows-only, but Bootcamp / Parallels etc. make that redundant.
