So much potential and so much goes to waste. Only 2 good sports events for me this weekend and both are secondary joys at best.

- First Cal follow their Big Game upset with a pathetic performance in Washington.
- Then the Gator-Tide matchup turns one-sided and stale.
- At this point I jump to watch USC get beat (always a joy, albeit minor due to Cal's ineptitude this season)
- Then then Nebraska is poised to ensure BCS chaos at Texas (a team I cannot stand due to their coach screwing Cal out of the Rose Bowl a few seasons back, but I'm not bitter) and fails
- Rounding out Saturday night was a small bit of satisfaction at Cal's basketball team manhandling Iowa St

and then Sunday rolls around...

The World Champs, fighting through a 3 game losing streak to Cincinnati Kansas City and Baltimore, are at home against Oakland. For 3 quarters it was a defensive matchup. In the 4th both teams completely forgot how to defend and I could just sense that pit of my stomach feeling and sure enough the once vaunted Steelers D allows the winning TD. I've been looking for a nice high bridge to jump off ever since. Season over, thanks for the memories. Go Indy-New Orleans double undefeated Super Bowl.
