>>>>>>>>>Ok, we're slowing the bandwagon down for all you sports fans to jump on! lol I was at the game yesterday and it was nice to see Chefs fans wearing bags on their heads, and heading to the house after 3 quarters!
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>Go Broncos!
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>Congratulations to the Broncos for somehow finding a way to knock off the mighty Chiefs ;-)
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>Credit where credit is due -- they are having a much better season than I thought they would. Looks like they are headed for the playoffs.
>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>Yep, we will be in the playoffs for 1 game! Hey, I had us pegged at 3 - 4 wins, so I'm feeling good! Too bad we didn't lose all the games so we could get Teebow!
>>>>>>
>>>>>>To play what position? He will not be a quarterback in the NFL, at least not IMO. He might make a heck of a tight end, though.
>>>>>
>>>>>I heard Paul Hornung , you may remember him from his playing days with Green Bay, talking about Teebow. The commentator asked what he thought of him as a QB in the NFL. Paul said, "are you kidding me? This guy is the best football player in America. He can probably play every position, and will make a fine quarterback in the NFL." I think he knows good stock when he sees it, so I'll have to come down on his side. Now, I have heard some Mel Kiper types, you know guys who haven't won both Heisman trophys and Super Bowls, talking about how Teebow won't be able to cut it. Time will tell, but if I were going to bet, I'd go with Hornungs assessment over theirs.
>>>>
>>>>Maybe Hornung is one of those former players suffering after-effects from concussions ;-) Any position? Defensive back? Wide receiver? No in both cases; not fast enough. Offensive or defensive lineman? Not big enough. That leaves tight end, linebacker, fullback, and quarterback. If you watch his passes, he is not all that accurate past 10 or 15 yards. And that's in college.
>>>>
>>>>It's Tebow, BTW.
>>>
>>>I don't know. There was another "winner" who was downgraded because he "couldn't make all the throws". Dropped all the way to the 4th round when San Francisco finally took him. Joe Montana turned out to be a pretty good quarterback. Then you have Jamarcus Russell. All the tools, no desire. Scouting is definately an art.
>>
>>And then in 2000 there was that skinny kid from Michigan. Picked after Chad Pennington, Giovanni Carmazzi, Chris Redman, Tee Martin, Marc Bulger, and Spergon Wynn ( go Browns <g> ) ... in 6th round, 199th overall. by the New England Patriots ...
>
>What ever happened to Giovanni Carmazzi? That skinny kid from Michigan wasn't even the starter, was he?
>
>I had to go back and look up where Drew Brees (too short) was drafted. Second round (second quarterback after Michael Vick).
>Hard to believe that San Diego drafted both Drew Brees and LaDanian Tomlinson in the same draft.

And the Browns - who took Spergon Wynn over Tom Brady the year before - had a 3 pick and took Gerard Warren instead of Tomlinson or Brees. Thanks, Butch Davis.

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
