I believe that I've seen this same error with some of the controls from Microsoft in Version 5.0. The common dialogs control comes to mind, specifically the .Action property. While it doesn't prevent the control from being used, you must set the properties programmatically rather than on the property sheets. In VFP 6.0, the .Action property is specified as "Write-Only", and the error does not occur.
