>Thanks for the explanation.... turned out this wasn't my problem after all. I forgot to set main in my project. I have a program & form with the name gledit. When I ran the exe it bypassed my program & 1st form & immediately called my 2nd form gledit. Now I understand why I was receiving the alias not found message.

>Now that my program is passing the object from my 1st form to my 2nd form, I am receiving a message that the dbf does not exist. I don't understand why it cannot find it, because the path that is listed with the message is correct. I still have the path hard-coded in the load event of my form. If I remove this & set the path in the config.fpw & distribute this with my exe file, it is looking for my dbf to be in the path that I defined for installation. How do I get around this?

Usually, app keeps data_path in local config.dbf and some included utility will allow/prompt user to select real path to data from particualr workstation. This value will be stored in config.dbf and used in DataEnvironment.BeforeOpenTables event(s) to set Cursor.Database properties.
