>>>>>>>>>>Ok, we're slowing the bandwagon down for all you sports fans to jump on! lol I was at the game yesterday and it was nice to see Chefs fans wearing bags on their heads, and heading to the house after 3 quarters!
>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>Go Broncos!
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>Congratulations to the Broncos for somehow finding a way to knock off the mighty Chiefs ;-)
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>Credit where credit is due -- they are having a much better season than I thought they would. Looks like they are headed for the playoffs.
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>Yep, we will be in the playoffs for 1 game! Hey, I had us pegged at 3 - 4 wins, so I'm feeling good! Too bad we didn't lose all the games so we could get Teebow!
>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>To play what position? He will not be a quarterback in the NFL, at least not IMO. He might make a heck of a tight end, though.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>I heard Paul Hornung , you may remember him from his playing days with Green Bay, talking about Teebow. The commentator asked what he thought of him as a QB in the NFL. Paul said, "are you kidding me? This guy is the best football player in America. He can probably play every position, and will make a fine quarterback in the NFL." I think he knows good stock when he sees it, so I'll have to come down on his side. Now, I have heard some Mel Kiper types, you know guys who haven't won both Heisman trophys and Super Bowls, talking about how Teebow won't be able to cut it. Time will tell, but if I were going to bet, I'd go with Hornungs assessment over theirs.
>>>>>
>>>>>Maybe Hornung is one of those former players suffering after-effects from concussions ;-) Any position? Defensive back? Wide receiver? No in both cases; not fast enough. Offensive or defensive lineman? Not big enough. That leaves tight end, linebacker, fullback, and quarterback. If you watch his passes, he is not all that accurate past 10 or 15 yards. And that's in college.
>>>>>
>>>>>It's Tebow, BTW.
>>>>
>>>>Thanks for the correct spelling Mike. You remember a guy name Montana? He was slow and didn't throw much past 15 yards either. Just because the guy doesn't have Elways rocket, that doesn't mean he won't make it in the pros. Time will tell, but I'm thinking he's going to play QB in the pros.
>>>
>>>I also remember a guy who threw an awful lot of short passes and hardly ever carried the ball himself. His name was Bart Starr.
>>
>>He carried it memorably one cold day in Green Bay, one of the most famous plays in NFL history.
>>
>>I wonder if we will hear from Jake today ;-) His beloved Steelers lost to the Browns last night -- the Browns! -- to fall to 6-7 and more or less out of the playoffs.
>
>How I saw the last 5 weeks:
>Losing to the Bengals the 2nd time hurt but at least the Steelers were still on track for the playoffs
>Losing to KC hurt but at least it was an overtime game on the road and the Steelers were still on track for the playoffs
>Losing to Baltimore was painful but they play a 2nd time in Pit and the Steelers were still on track for the playoffs
>Losing to Oakland at home was a crushing reality check. What the hell was that? Why aren't they sticking with the run?
>and then comes the 2nd game with the Brownies and the first loss in 12 games. Good grief!
>
>The only consolation is that I picked the game correctly in my leagues. I have zero faith in this team as they clearly have no faith in themselves anymore. That Cleveland game was the single worst performance from this team that I've seen since the Kordel era.
>
>What really pisses me off is how easily the Steelers should've stomped through this season. Last year they easily had the toughest schedule in the league and fought through it. This year, they were plush with cupcakes and having dispatched with the likes of the Vikings, Broncos and Chargers they managed to fall flat on their faces. Still, the AFC wildcard contenders seem bound and determined to keep the Steelers alive.
>
>Note : My wife's a Packer fan so this Sunday will be a treat. ;)

I can't say much about anyone else's team the way the Bears have played. They are 5-8 and out of the playoffs. And with the Steelers' losing streak, they have not beaten a team with a winning record all season. I was not one of those who thought the acquisition of Jay Cutler was their ticket to the Super Bowl but I thought it would go better than this.
