>>>>>I'm with Alan on this. I am amazed that so many care so much about what this guy does. So he had an affair - what concern is that of mine or anyone else and who is anyone to judge or even have an opinion on it. Plus, I suspect the sponsors are all cheering with glee that they can now dump this bottomless pit sponsorship without fearing that their competitors will take him.

>>>Think about where the power lies in the sponser / Woods relationship and what it would mean to have him go to your competition.

>>That doesn't seem to be troubling them. Clearly they do not consider him an effective spokesman at the moment. Two of his biggest sponsors have dropped him and others, while expressing their support for him, have stopped running ads with him in them. Until this blows over, he is radioactive.

>As I posted a minute ago, I see the corporate sponsors views. However, if this all quiets down in a few months I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick him back up again. It all depends on what increases sales...
I am guessing two things have to happen. One is he has to show more repentance than he has so far. The more vague he is about it the more the rumors will continue. Two is he needs to get back to what he does best, winning golf tournaments. The American people have a great capacity for forgiveness if they don't think you're trying to snow them.
