I can't help much with the problem, but the only way to really remove the VFP6 beta from your machine is to reformat the drive, and start over from scratch.

>I don't think that's my problem. This happens before I add any files at all to the project. I create the project and try to add .prg files and when I click on the Code tab my computer locks. Also I tried uninstalling VFP6.0 and installing VFP5.0a and the I see the same behavior.
