Intermittently, our large VFP 8 application will crash on startup on a particular customers computer.
We have a LOB application, a compiled EXE in VFP 8, that a customer is running on a server 2008 R2 machine with terminal services (remote desktop). Intermittently, it will crash during start up with a windows error. It's a 64 bit server. This application is deployed on hundreds of different LAN and terminal server environments, this is the first I've seen of this problem.
It turns out that CFGMGR32.dll is the source of the error, as you can see in the error logged by windows.
It's the "Configuration Manager Forwarder DLL" and it's loaded into many of the applications running on the server. It's a core windows DLL, I can search for that DLL on my machine via process explorer and it's loaded into quite a few apps as well.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on how to fix it?
