Yes and no. That is, they could have been, indirectly, by setting the doom and gloom atmosphere here, and generally shooing away few potentially important people who could have been the critical mass against this dispersion. But then there was a constant influx of messages suggesting, proposing, advocating and sometimes pushing the "you're a fool if you don't jump in the dot net wagon" line. Don't remember if we had a month without at least one of such thread for the last six years.
