Thanks Cecil!

>When I did the installation a few days ago, of SQL Server 2008 on my now Cleanly Installed Windows 7 Home Premium O/S, it started off by telling me that it had compatibility problems with Windows 7 and that I'd need to do an update, which I was led to. I did the update and the installation proceeded very smoothly after that. No problems so far. I never was shown what the udpate was about, so it is some secret thing that Microsoft is doing to stall off the complaints about incompatibility; at least they took care of the problem, for which I am grateful.

>>I hear that there are some compatibility problems with both versions of SQL Server and Windows 7. What exactly the problems are and why I don't know ... I don't have Windows 7 yet, so I've only heard this through the grapevine from someone who had issues installing on Win 7. I don't know if he tried any Googling for answers or not.
