I've had peculiar problems similar in the past, rebuilt the form entirely and they worked. As a test - you could try a simple form with a couple of controls on the form, then try to get the activeX control to reside behind. No sense taking the hard way and trying to fix it in a full fledge form full of controls. Just a thought.
