Then it sounds as it the problem is on the recording side. I haven't got CamStudio installed here and I can't remember what the options are for audio.
Are you trying to record speaker or voice?
Do you have any other recording software that IS working? If so you could check the codecs/devices that is using.....
IAC, check the settings in the control panel 'Sound and Audio Devices' for audio sound recording.....
