Not advisable to access VFP tables over VPN?

Unfortunately, there is no way to access .dbf tables across a DSL connection quickly. VFP is reading those files constantly from what it sees as a mapped drive, and therefore the file location needs to be somewhere where the access is as fast as a network hard drive. The setup you describe is simple too slow for the way VFP works.
