>Oh, no you won't get away this time. When one says "there are n million Christians on Earth" - are Catholics counted or not? When one wishes merry Christmas or whatever, does one assume that Catholics count among the recipients, yes/no?

>My example was intentionally exaggerated, to point out that if all Muslims, all communists, all Serbs, all bikers, all gays, all straights and generally any group is to be judged as a whole by what their extremists do, then the same logic must apply to all Christians without exemption. So either Catholics aren't Christian, or whatever they do falls on the shoulders of whole Christianity.

>This logic hurts, eh? Well, greetings from the receiving end.

No, not at all. In fact, I agree with you. However, I will point out that there are quite a few differences (teaching/training followers in violence, teaching violence, etc) in todays religions compared to historical events. While WWII was not that long ago, there have been many posts here that we should learn from our history and not repeat it. Hopefully, christian religions will not repeat those mistakes of the past, while it appears by recent events that all extremists of the muslim faith is intentionally repeating those mistakes and even teaching/training followers to do so in the future. Granted it is not all of the faith and I never intended to imply that it was. I do not believe that all muslims are responsible for the actions of the few (which really is no longer a 'few'), but they are responsible (just as all christians were in the past) for not speaking up against it.

(Updated for clarity - sometimes I type too fast and all of my words don't get included)
