Well for a start, don't spend enourmous amounts on starting silly wars you cannot win. Also, try to make friends in stead of scaring them off (Hint: GWB did not make a lot of friends in europe during his administration). For once, start to look outside your borders and don't have the attitude that everything outside the US is crap. Other countries in the world might have found solutions to problems you have. Your car industry is learning the hard lesson right now. Reform your healthcare to be much less of a burden on GDP also keeping your workforce healthier.

You have to realise that the American dream does not exist anymore. For every man that reaches the american dream, a tenthousand attempts will fail miserably.

Realise that "Freedom" does not exist. You're as much as a slave to the society as I am. Perhaps in different ways. If you truly want to be free, move to the inlands of australia and live from the wind. -- But then don't complain about nobody is going to help you if you need help. my mantra: "Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose". If you ask me what has infringed on your freedom the most. I'll have to answer: Starting and raising a family. Nothing else comes even close. Now if everyone was thinking like that and would value freedom over anything else, you'd be a dying nation.


You'll have to learn that you have to have a stronger cohesian in your society. If you want the US to continue to be the world power, you have to realise that the 2000 - 2008 administration was on a terrible dead end. Extreme 'personal freedom' (if that even exists), might be well for individuals, but not neccesarily for the country. what good is it for the US if one creates an enourmous profitable business where the money is flowing outside the US (because of outsourcing).

You'll have to realise that immigration might be the answer for motivated and cheap workforce.

Keep your citizens healthy and active. Saying that european politic does not stimulate people to work really is a myth. Unemployment rates over here are consitently below the US one, but you have to find a way to continually motivate and (re)educate people. If you're unemployed and you receive an income from the government, you MUST DO something in return (e.g. community work).

Something has to change in american politics. The huge polarisation is crippling your country. The influence of biased media is much, much worse than you can imagine. Italy is flamed for the media being controled by the presendent, but your situation is even worse. Allmost all media is political influenced to opose the other side. It has to end... how? I don't know. The fact that words like socialism, communism, liberal etc are changed for political wins, is really, really bad and makes everyone who uses those words outside your country look like an utter idiot.

Also, for once, think with an open mind.... practical and pragmatic. Religion should not have a place in politics as it only can be abused. We had to learn the hard lesson here. We are a nation that fights water as much of the country is below sea level. If we were fighting eachother on religions in stead of talking to eachother, making compromises, we would be swimming now.

For example, you really need to think about taking a different approach in fighting crime. Crime in your country is way to high for a western country. Obviously, the hard line you've increasingly have been taking, does miserably fail (Sorry JohnH). Justice should not be about REVENGE and PUNISHMENT. It should be about taking them outside society and prepare them for getting back in society to actually have a chance not to fall into the same pattern again. Also reconsider gun control. Really think about it, instead of falling back into false dogmas (result of wishfull thinking). An argument "A gun to defend myself" is truly rediculous. Its only creating more deads and accidents than without having the gun. Think of other ways preventing asaults and self defence (now you are americans, you should be able to invent something that is as effective but not deadly).
