In May of 2005, I attended La Fete Champenois (a Reunion we have every 5 years in France) in western France with my cousins. I was astonished at their like for Americans, including the young and the elderly.

One elderly man (a distant cousin to me) pulled me aside and spoke in fairly good English about how in the year 1917 or 1918, 25,000 American soldiers came to western France to fight the Germans. If you remember American History, LaFayette aided America in its battle against the English in what we call the Revolutionary War. This elderly cousin went on to tell me how an American Lieutenant marched up to the mayor's office of this little French town with the U.S. Army Color Guard and 25,000 young American troops following him. The young American Officer drew his sword, saluted the French and spoke loudly stating, "LaFayette, we have returned!" My French cousin had tears in his eyes, because he was grateful for the intervention of the Americans in the war against the Germans who had invaded his country. He then went on to state, "Then you came back in 1944 to fight against the Nazis!" Well, I didn't come back in 1944 since I was born later, but he meant, "Your American soldiers came back." Many American graves and those of other allies are a testament of the many sacrifices made in behalf of the people's of Europe. At this point, as this man spoke to me, I was in tears, because of the gratitude he displayed. I could not speak at that point, because he was right. Many Americans did come to the aid of Europeans back then. They'd do it again, if called upon.

Now, here's my question: "Would Europeans come to the aid of America, if we were attacked, say, by the Russians, or the Chinese, or whoever?"

>It must be nice to live there in heaven. We Americans are just stupid, and therefore we can't help it. But, even though we are stupid, your country is probably free today because of our past stupidity, as is France, England, Germany and the whole of Europe. May we never become like that model country you live in. Taking instructions on how to be a world leader from your country would be like an ant crawling up an elephant's leg, with rape on his mind....
