>Walter, that is laughable. The Netherlands had how many troops in this? The US, Britain, Germany and Australia have born the brunt of this war. Having all these tiny countries on the list as "supporting the war" is merely a political thing. The contribution of your country would hardly have been missed.
Whahahaaa you're not burdened by any knowledge are you? About 2000 troups are over there in afghanistan, and with lots more than the 6 F16s (you're so misinformed we are there with F16's, C130's, Chinooks, Apaches en Cougars, see also
http://uruzgankampholland.kro.nl/materieel.aspx ). Set that into perspective of 16 million citizens and you have a country that is doing much more than most countries do.
Quote from your link: Taking the number of population into consideration, the Netherlands has made a relative large contribution to this global war. Besides that, several measures were taken to enhance the national security.
And about irrelavant. The dutch are certainly not irrelevant as they do hard work in uruzgan. They have developed a strategy that has gotten the attention of the americans. Not for nothing, the US is pushing our administration to stay in afghanistan. The dutch do play a significant role in afghanistan. If we leave, in 2010, the chances are that both the australians and canadians will leave as well. The dutch is the leading nation in this area and no other country currently wants to take over this role.
