I designed my house to have all the plumbing run through the inside walls, and NONE on exterior walls, except the spigots (freeze proof). Even so, my crack-head plumbers kinked a pipe and had to reroute the line to my master bath - yep on the outside wall. Now, if it gets down into the teens, I have to leave the water dripping in the tub. AAaaarrrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!!
It's so hard to find competent help these days <g>.
