>>>2003 Jetta. It has been a great car and I would definitely buy another one. But now I avoid the seat warmer ;-) (Actually my daughters are about the only ones who have ever used them).

>>Hey how about that. I just (Dec 28th) traded in my 1995 VW Cabrio for a 2008 Jetta City. I do use the seat warmer. Definitely! Now that my daily commute is 130 km (that's about 81 miles for you imperial types) each way, I figured I should get something a bit newer. I love the car. Two things I have now that I didn't have before that really make a difference - a glove compartment and trunk space. This is living.

>Wow, that is some commute. I know it's a pretty high status company, though, so I'm sure worth making the sacrifice.

>My office is 34 miles from here but this is the cushiest commute I have ever had (other than working at home). It's a 10 minute drive to the Metra commuter train station. 45 minutes later, at about the time I have finished reading the morning paper, it pulls into the station by work. And I do mean by work. The train platform is next to the office building's parking garage, about 100-150 yards from my desk. Sweet!

I know what you mean. For my previous job I drove about 12 minutes to the commuter train (the GO), 25 minutes on the GO, and about a 10 minute walk at the other end. It was great. Of course, the drawback is that the GO parking lots are really just car thief supermarkets.
